Caring for your RODTNES leather piece

Simple steps to keep your bag beautiful

Your RODTNES item does not require much care or maintenance. However, natural leather will change over time — it will become softer, and the surface may show signs of wear. Unlike artificial materials, natural leather can be treated and refreshed — just like a good pair of leather shoes. We recommend following a few simple care instructions to keep your RODTNES bag beautiful and functional for years to come.

Read the product description on the product page, as it may contain specific instructions regarding your bag.

Your bag will not be affected by a few drops of rain, but for extra protection you may spray it with a water-repellent product.

Avoid exposing your bag to extreme humidity, as it may affect the shape and surface of the leather and cause possible colour transfer. If your bag does get wet, blot it gently with a clean cloth and allow it to dry naturally, away from direct heat.

When not in use, fill your bag with tissue, cloth, or paper, and store it lying flat or hanging by its handles. Leather is shaped by how it is used and stored, and if you leave your bag folded or compressed for longer periods, or in the same position every day, the folds may become permanent.

If your bag becomes worn along the edges or corners, you can treat the affected areas with a leather cream in a neutral or matching colour, or use a leather repair product. (Note: Be mindful of possible smudging on clothes from excess or unabsorbed colour.)

If you wish to refresh the entire bag, we recommend cleaning it with a leather cleaning product before applying a leather care or conditioning product.
