The word foris is Latin for a threshold between the interior world and the natural one. That tension is at the heart of this collection of art prints.
Each print begins as a photograph: the surface of an ancient tree, photographed close enough to lose its name. From a distance, the tree is mundane and easy to pass without a glance, but when you look closer, it becomes something else entirely. Lines, shapes, texture and colours are no longer details within a larger, wellknown scene; they becomes the subject itself.
This is the idea behind the Foris collection: that what we see depends on the context and how we look at it. Step back, and you see a tree. Step closer, and you see composition: texture and tone arranged by time itself, long before any camera arrived.
Placed in an interior space, the Foris art prints carry that shift indoors and remind you to slow down and be present. They offer a quiet sense of tactility, mindfulness and connection to the natural world, to the passage of time, and to everything that quietly endures.
Each print is produced on heavyweight 200gsm fine art paper with a smooth matte surface that enhances tonal depth and highlights detail. The printing method is Giclée - the standard used by museums and galleries worldwide - using pigment-based archival inks. The result is a smooth gradient, rich colour and a brilliance that will not fade over time.
SHIPPING
Orders are dispatched from our warehouse in Aarhus, Denmark within 1–5 business days after purchase. We ship with GLS to all EU countries, as well as Switzerland and Norway. In regions where GLS does not operate directly, delivery will be carried out by one of GLS’s trusted partner couriers.
SELECT GLS PICK-UP POINT: In countries where parcel shop delivery is available, you can select your preferred parcel shop during the final step of checkout, after payment is completed - click the bar at the very top of the screen, which says "Select a Parcel Shop". If no parcel shop is selected, your order will be delivered to a parcel shop close to your address. In countries where parcel shop delivery is not available, your order will be delivered directly to your home address.
Please note: If a parcel is not collected from the pickup point or delivery is refused, it will be returned to us. The cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
DELIVERIES OUTSIDE OF EU: Any applicable import duties, VAT, and local sales taxes will be charged in addition to the product price and are payable upon receipt. Please note that these duties and taxes are non-refundable through RODTNES.
SHIPPING OF ART PRINTS: Art prints are produced and shipped directly from our print partner, not from our own warehouse. They are delivered to the address you provide at checkout. Delivery to a parcel shop is not possible for prints. If your order includes both an art print and items from the main RODTNES collection, they will arrive as two separate shipments, each with its own tracking.

RETURNS
We accept returns that are sent to us within 14 days after you receive your order.* Send an e-mail to hello@rodtnes.dk containing your order receipt, and we will get back to you within 2 business days with instructions about how to return your order.
- When returning an item, it must be sent back in its original condition. All accompanying packaging materials - such as protective covers, foam inserts, stuffing, plastic bags, and any other components that were part of the delivery must be included and intact.
- Kindly note that customers are responsible for covering return shipping costs and organizing the return shipment.
*Christmas gifts purchased after November 24th can be returned until January 7th of the following year, provided all standard return conditions are met.

All RODTNES bags are crafted from 100% natural, premium-quality calfskin leather. The grained surface appears through a specialized treatment - a type of “washing” process - that causes the leather to shrink, allowing the hide’s natural grain to emerge. This results in a rich, thick, and structured leather with depth and character.
Because the grain is entirely natural, subtle variations will appear across the hide. Some areas may show a slightly more pronounced grain than others - an inherent quality of authentic, high-grade leather.
ABOUT LEATHER PRODUCTION
Our method for achieving a grained surface is fundamentally different from that of most other brands. The most common approach is embossing, where an artificial grain pattern is pressed onto a flat, smooth hide. Before embossing, the hide is stretched to increase its size, a process that removes its natural structure. The artificial grain applied afterward conceals marks, scars, and natural variation, resulting in a completely uniform appearance.
We take the opposite approach. By shrinking the leather rather than stretching it, we preserve and enhance the hide’s original structure. This process highlights the natural grain instead of replacing it. The visible variation in the leather of a RODTNES bag is a testament to its quality - leather treated to reveal its true character, not disguise it.
